Cohousing community

The co-housing community will be cooperatively owned and be situated in the main building. There is 29 bedrooms with private bathrooms, several living rooms and offices, a professional kitchen, a large dining room & easy access to the gym.

To be a small happy self-sufficient, proactive co-housing community , who support each other in growing together and creating sustainable livelihoods – a cluster of the future society with holistic consciousness and an integrated planetary vision.

To provide living spaces for the people associated with the project.

→ Latest research: Households in Danish eco-villages have 30-50% lower carbon footprint than the average Danish household. Members of eco-villages (average carbon footprint of 8.4 tonnes) have a slightly higher life satisfaction, compared to the most consuming quarter of Danes (average CO2 footprint of 22.6 tonnes).

What is shared

Shared common facilities: Laundry, kitchen, dining room, living rooms, meditation room, gym, cars (coming), guest rooms, studio, library …

Daily shared meals: Our community kitchen provides 2 high quality nutritiously complete meals a day and some days a snack in the afternoon or evening. The bulk of the food consists of whole grains, beans, seeds & local vegetables, complemented with smaller amounts of fruits, nuts, and animal foods, all prepared using macrobiotic principles.

Shared tasks: With such a large common area, shared food and so much activity,  expect to use 2 hours/day and 12 days/year on community tasks.

What is private

Rooms are private.

Enterprises are private or co-created by subgroups.

How will we succeed

Success in regenerative enterprises, communities or cultures critically depends on the level of personal development of the people that co-create these collectives.

We recognize that our collective thriving depends on our individual

  • ability to articulate and achieve goals
  • capacity for clear communication
  • integrity in making and keeping commitments
  • ability to resolve personal issues with community members – without involving the whole community!
  • intellectual and emotional flexibility
  • ability to love ourselves and develop a deeper understanding of and compassion for different people.

Perceiving conflicts and our own negative emotions as an indicator that there is unmet needs and aspirations (in ourselves or others) moves us forward on our path to personal and communal growth.

Slow foods

We eat slow foods as they increase our ability to compassionately connect to ourselves, each other & the environment.

Our community kitchen is free of sugar, coffee, food additives and other stimulants since they prevent us from compassionately connecting to ourselves, each other & the environment.

We make wonderful desserts and snacks with slower sweeteners and enjoy grain coffee and herbal teas. Personal use of sugar, coffee and other stimulants are expected to be gradually reduced.
