People of all ages from all over the world come together to heal body, mind and soul and share & learn from each other:
Ecovillage as a learning environment:
Important life and social skills are best learned, when theory and praxis go hand in hand. Thus students will engage in community life, group decision making, daily chores, cultural activities & enterprises. Observing what works and learning from what doesn’t.
Holistic approach to nutrition & lifestyle for people and planet.
Long term students form groups, who work more independently on co-creating and designing green projects and regenerative enterprises to be initiated, when they return home.
During the last century society has changed with giant steps: agriculture -> industrial production and consumerism -> digital age.
We’ve moved from country to city and become dependent on fossil fuels and chemical-based agriculture. Mostly we perceive ourselves as separate from the whole and has lost touch with nature & true values.
Based on history, the students will clarify natural steps towards a modern conscious society. Scientific sustainable society concepts as well as the concepts of the ecovillage /permaculture /transition movements will be explored.
Students will design a sustainable community as they go through the other subjects.
People usually work to earn the money they need to live the life they want.
The students are challenged to turn this upside down and ask the question: How can I earn a living by doing what I love to do? Who needs what I love to do / produce? What kind of project / job / conditions can I create to make a livelihood from what I love to do?
In the process students learn design of sustainable projects, entrepreneurship, economics & fundraising, media & public relations.
Over the last half century, broken families have become the norm. People don’t know their neighbors. Our live relationships are often replaced by virtual ones, and true emotions are squeezed into emoji’s. Conflicts often take over small voluntary organisations.
This subject focus on improving the skills necessary to have successful relationships and work in a team, i.e. communication, conflict resolution, social tools, group decision-making, singing, music and other cultural activities, etc.
As a society, we have moved from autocracy to democracy. New forms of governance, such as sociocracy, holacracy, consensus, etc are in their infancy.
This is paralleled by different forms of organization in the corporate world. Students are trained to participate in and facilitate participatory decision-making using the sociocratic model in regards to decisions that relates to their stay at the College.
